OREiNO Organic EVOO
The olive groves of Oreino are found on the hilly terraces of Kyparissou-Manoliopoulou area in the Chania Prefecture of Crete.
We own around 10.000 olive trees, some of which are over 50 years old. We apply organic olive farming, certified by BIOHELLAS-BIOSUISSE, by operating according to strict specifications that ensure the premium quality of the end product.
Harvesting takes place when the olives are still unripe with the use of electric tools, free of combustion motor engines, in order to extinguish exhaust fumes’ residuals. The olive oil production takes place in our private two-phase current, olive mill, following a cold pressing and the extraction of the core. After the extraction, the extra virgin, organic olive oil OREINO, is filtered and stored in inox tanks with the use of Argon up to the day of its bottling.
The varieties of olive trees that we grow for the production of Oreino EVOO, are mainly the Koroneiki and secondly to a smaller extent the Tsounati.
